What is a Dreamworlds Design?

Dreamworlds Design is a computer aided mural creation technique based on a library of hand painted drawings. This new and revolutionary technique of mural painting allows you, the consumer, to create individual pieces of art, tailored to your interior from an impressive collection of iconic images.

What sizes are available?

There is no limitation on the size of murals we are able to develop. Whatever your needs are, we can meet then. We will custom design just about every inch of your home/office to fit your walls.

How much do they cost?

Price depends on the details and size of the composition. It will vary between $29-$49 / square ft.

Do you accept international orders?

Absolutely, we are happy to ship murals to any international location served by FedEx. We ship to our Canadian customers by means of UPS. In this case please contact us at marcsia@starsandart.com

How long will delivery take?

Delivery will usually take 5 to 10 days for the magic window collection. Computer designed custom-made murals for large surfaces will be completed between 2 to 6 weeks.

What happens if I am living, for example in Texas, California or out of your Region?

What type of material do you print on?

The material which we print on depends on where your mural will be placed. For bathrooms, pools and spas we recommend vinyl, for interior rooms such as the living room or family room we recommend canvas.

Vinyl: Tear proof, and printed with special ultraviolet resistant inks which provide 20 years of indoor fade resistance, vinyl printed murals can be used outdoors with proper weather proofing in pools, spas, and bathrooms. The material is fully washable with soap and water, it wont damage your walls, and it can be reinstalled once.

Canvas: A more traditional matte finish, these murals printed with ultraviolet protected inks are ideal for indoor use. These murals are also washable with soap and water; however we dont recommend them for outdoor use.

Who installs my wall mural?

Installing one of our wall murals is much like hanging wallpaper. If you feel uncomfortable about doing this yourself we recommend that you achieve optimal results and satisfaction by having a professional do the job.

Do I have to install my own wall mural?

Absolutely not, if you dont feel comfortable installing the mural yourself we have our professional team available for your services.

What should I know before I begin to hang my mural?

Your first concern should be the surface you wish to install the mural on. Surfaces should be smooth, and without irregularities. An ideal surface consists of inexpensive flat latex paint.

If you are uncertain about your walls paint type, two coats of flat latex should render the wall suitable for mural hanging. If the existing coat is glossy or semi-gloss, use a medium grit sandpaper to roughen the surface.

Can I install my mural on an uneven surface?

We recommend that customers interested in installing a mural on a textured wall, wood paneled wall, cinderblock wall, or any other uneven surface to consult with a professional.

Rough surfaces can be made suitable for wall murals by installing a liner paper finished with two coats of flat latex paint. Liner paper is blank wallpaper used to cover rough or irregular surfaces.

Will I damage my wall by uninstalling my wall mural?

Use of conventional wallpaper removal techniques will ensure that the wall suffers no damage if you chose to remove a wall mural.

How do I clean my wall mural?

To clean the mural, lightly wash it with a damp sponge and mild soap if necessary. Please note that strong cleaning agents or vigorous scrubbing may result in damage.

Can wall murals survive in high moisture environments such as bathrooms and swimming pools?

Yes. If certain steps are taken wall murals will become water resistant. Several light layers of water-based polyurethane will protect murals from moisture. If there is a possibility that moisture exists behind or within the wall, adhesives containing mildewcide are recommended.

How will my mural arrive?

Large canvas and vinyl wall murals will arrive rolled.

What type of paint do you use?

I use high quality artist grade acrylics. These paints are tested for durability over several years; they are museum quality paints used by professional artists. These paints are odorless, non-toxic acrylic, acrylic-latex paints and glazes.

Oil paints and mixed media may also be used, should the project call for it.

A wide variety of media is used on faux projects.

How much do you charge?

Price is variable with mural complexity. Simple designs involving loose style abstract art, silhouettes or large monotone regions can average $9 to $29 per square foot. Please click here to see an example.

Higher detail, higher quality murals will usually average $29 to $125 per square foot. These murals will have the same kind of excellent detail you will find at a fine art gallery, for a much lower price.

Can you paint on wood panels or on a canvas?

Yes. Murals painted on canvas can be applied like wallpaper, or tacked and framed. These are great solutions for restaurants, and places where it is ideal not to disrupt the site. To learn more about it please read our article Choosing a Moveable Mural for Your Home

Can you coordinate with architects and interior designers?

Yes, and if you are looking for architects of interior designers, I can make a recommendation. This is often preferred, as color schemes and ideas can be included in the project.

How do I clean my mural?

Murals can be cleaned with warm water mixed with mild soap. My hands painted murals are also non-toxic to children and animals.

Can you still help me if I have a limited budget?

If I am told up front what I have to work with, I can usually work with lower budget clients.

Can you copy a painting or mural I saw elsewhere?

I can achieve the feel of another mural, however your mural should be unique and original, not to mention that works of art can be copywrited and federally protected.

I have a clear idea of what I want. Will you create it?

Within my own art of style there should be no problem. I may, however, offer ideas for possible additions or improvements.

How do I begin?

It is best to start with a plan, yet be open to inspiration and tweaking as you go. Ask yourself, What do I want, and where do I want it? Consider the theme of the project, budget, time constraints, and any possible obstacles.

Be sure to ask yourself these questions:

What kind of impact should this piece have?

Who is the audience?

Will there be a certain color scheme to adhere to?

Are you going for a specific theme? (Available themes include Italian Tuscany, French Provincial, Children's room, etc.)

Will you be collaborating with an interior designer?

Are there architectural elements which will be incorporated into the piece?

The more information you can amass ahead of time the better. If you have a clear idea of what you are looking to achieve, it will make things easier, and the project will go a lot smoother for everyone involved: yourself, myself, and anyone else you may be collaborating with. You will even save money.
